I had a short list of words. Profound words. I thought one of those words would be the word for my 2019. I thought the word I chose would double as a mini-mantra for my writing. I mulled over these words for a few weeks before I determined to sit down and really—you know—LISTEN. After all, it is my word for this year. So I did. I sat down and listened. I listened to my heart and what I call “promptings”—or those gut instincts. And I was surprised. You may not be surprised by my word, but I was. This was not what I expected. In fact, it wasn’t really on my list.
My word for 2019 will be JOY.
Yes, JOY.
Can you believe this has never been my “One Little Word”?
After I confirmed that the word was joy, my first doubt came instantly: but this will seem like a gimmick. Everybody will think I’m just doing this to sell my books or class or promote my blog. That isn’t what One Little Word is all about. Maybe I should choose a different word. But just as quickly came the counter argument: it doesn’t matter what “everybody” thinks. That isn’t what One Little Word is all about. This is your word. Share your journey.
And so, here I am. 2019 will be my year to focus on JOY. And yes, I will continue to write about ways to add more joy to your life and to the world on my blog.
Joy On! —New Online Class
But I will also be sharing more resources about 10 specific ways to add more joy to your life as I follow the plan myself throughout this year. And I would love for you to join me. I’ve redesigned the class I was about to launch to make it a year-long course that I will follow right along with you. The class will begin January 7, 2019, and a new module will go live at the beginning of each month of 2019. I know life is busy and it is easy to get distracted and to forget to continue or complete a class. So in addition to new modules each month, you will receive a few (not too many and NOTHING salesy or spammy) inspirational emails to help remind you about what we are doing and the progress we are making.
I originally wanted to transform my book Joy On! Ten Ways to Add More Joy to Your Life into a class for two big reasons:
1-I had heard from a few readers that they liked the concept of my book, but they were overwhelmed and couldn’t decide where to start or they kept feeling stuck and they weren’t making the progress they felt they wanted—or needed—to make.
2-In a class I took from Benjamin Hardy, I learned that free content is easily ignored. People pay more attention to things in which they are invested. It’s a psychological thing. They are more driven to continue and complete them if they have actually invested in the course.
My goal is to bring more joy into the world. This won’t happen if everybody is downloading my content and forgetting about it.
But I also know how it feels to get excited about a course only to be discouraged because it is too cost prohibitive. And joy is not exclusive to people of a particular income, nor should it be.
So my course will begin as a year-long journey with a focus on a different way to add more joy to your life each month. The topics will come from my book, but the presentation will be more interactive and hopefully more inspiring, too.
What you can expect:
Each month will contain a video, a challenge, and a download within the month’s module. I’ve already reached out to a few talented artists for some collaborations I think you’ll love. Plus, I’ll send you email reminders that contain more inspiration and motivation throughout the month {No more than one a week unless you all start begging for more…}.
Who is this for?
Sometimes we fall into circumstances that lead us into spirals of negativity that only end after we recognize them and begin trying to reverse our direction. It takes intention. And motivation. And a little accountability.
If you are looking for a little motivation and inspiration as you try to add more joy to your life and avoid the negativity and discouragement that often comes with life, this course is for you.
If you feel stuck and alone, this course is for you.
If you feel like things are OK, but you know they could be better, this course is for you.
If you’ve read through my book or downloaded it and feel like you weren’t able to stick to it or get the most out of it, this course is for you.
Who is this not for?
This class is not for everybody.
If you are already satisfied that you are living a joyful life that inspires those around you and makes the world a better place simply through your light, this class is one you can—and should—skip. In fact, if this is you, I’d love for you to share your secrets with me and my class—email me!
Additionally, you have to be willing to admit that you can improve your situation. If you do not believe that this can happen, there is no point in wasting your time and money because you won’t be willing to try.
In the first month of the course, we’ll discuss on three foundational principles:
1- You deserve to be joyful.
2- You can have more joy in your everyday life.
3- Joy is worth the effort.
If you are not willing to accept these principles, this class is not for you.
If you downloaded my book and you feel like you are already making excellent progress on your own and want to continue doing what you are doing, GREAT! Skip this class and keep adding joy to your life.
So…what will it cost?
Now through December 31, 2018, you can enroll in the course (and invest in yourself) for $24. No coupon code necessary.
On January 1, 2019, the price will go up to $48. My hope is to inspire a few of you to make the commitment a few weeks early so you will be ready on January 7, to make 2019 a more Joy-filled year.
Can I enroll later?
Enrollment will be open until January 31, 2019. After that, we will begin focusing on specific themes each month and it will not be as much fun for you to join already feeling behind and trying to catch up.
How do I enroll?
Visit my course page here. Be sure to watch the promo video! It will get you pumped (and it’s only 30 seconds) for this fun new adventure. I am so excited to share this year with you as we add more joy to our lives together.
